Members Profiles - Dr Elton SUN Wu

Dr Elton Sun Wu has served as Vice President of Hyatt China since 2019, overseeing the development and operations of the Group's brand UrCove as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, during which time nearly 70 hotels have opened within five years of its launch. With over 30 years of experience in hotel management, Dr Sun previously served as General Manager of HK CTS Hotels Company Limited, successfully leading brand development and corporate expansion. He also served as Global Chief Development Officer and Executive Vice President at Huazhu Hotels Group, where he led the development and operations of several mid‑scale and upper mid‑scale hotel brands in China, boosting the company's overall market share. Dr Sun remains closely connected with his alma mater, currently serving as President of the PolyU School of Hotel and Tourism Management Mainland Alumni Network. He is committed to organising alumni activities to strengthen alumni networks. He also serves on the International Advisory Committee of the Research Centre for Digital Transformation of Tourism at the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research, consistently contributing his professional expertise to the PolyU community.
