Members Profiles - Ir Prof. Eric MA Siu-cheung

Prof. Ma is currently the Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of New World Development Company Limited. Before such, he was Acting CEO of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited and Principal Consultant of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation. He joined the HKSAR Government in 2014 as Under Secretary for Development and was subsequently appointed as Secretary for Development, overseeing a broad portfolio of policy areas ranging from urban planning to heritage conservation, with a special focus on addressing the supply-demand imbalance for land and housing in Hong Kong. Prof. Ma is a co-opted member of Development Committee of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. He is an Adjunct Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of PolyU and an Honorary Professor of School of Science and Technology of Open University of Hong Kong. A frequent speaker in public forums and technical seminars organized by major universities, Prof. Ma has been a driving force behind publ engagement and professional education in Hong Kong. He is a fellow member of professional bodies, including the Hong Kong Institutions of Engineers.
