With over 40 years of experience in civil engineering, Ir Prof. Lau is a Authorized Person, Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Geotechnical Engineer, and Barrister-at-Law specialized in construction laws, contract and project management. He has a master degree in Structural Engineering from University of Manchester, another master degree in Financial Economics from University of London, and a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from University of London. He is a Justice of the Peace. In 2009, he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star. He is also a strong supporter of education who shares his valuable experience with students as an Adjunct Professor of several tertiary institutions including PolyU.
