Mr Chu, Co-founder of October Pictures Limited and a Hong Kong Polytechnic design graduate, has played a key role in making Hong Kong known to overseas film studios. For years he has helped film directors all over the world identify Hong Kong as a setting for their stories and engaged in co-productions in Asia. The blockbusters he worked for during location shooting in Hong Kong include Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Life 2003, Batman: The Dark Knight, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, and the Korean movie The Thieves. He is a member of the Hong Kong Film Development Council and its Fund Vetting Committee that aims to nurture talents for the industry. In 2014 he was among 50 PolyU alumni featured in the exhibition "THE NEXT 50: Layers of Design Creativity from Hong Kong" to celebrate the opening of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower of the PolyU School of Design.
