Members Profiles - Sr Dr CHEUNG Tin-cheung

A building surveyor by profession, Sr Dr Cheung has served in the Hong Kong government for nearly four decades, with tenures spanning various departments. As Director of Buildings, he led the Buildings Department to review and develop policies and strategies that greatly enhanced building safety. His endeavours in improving the quality of building development and promoting a sustainable built environment have established him as a visionary open to new ideas and innovation. By removing barriers to technological adoption within the building industry, he has shifted its culture to one that embraces change. Dr Cheung has also forged close ties with his alma mater, having been a Member and Chairman of the Departmental Advisory Committee for the Department of Building and Real Estate, serving on the validation panel for the Department's doctoral programme and being a frequent speaker at various events. 

He is a recipient of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award in Professional Achievement.
